RDG RDG + Bar Annie: Where Have All The Good Restaurants Gone

My first restaurant week in Houston – where was I going to go? What restaurant had I really been wanting to try? Why RDG+ Bar Annie of course! It is the most talked about new restaurant in town and therefore, it must be fabulous.

Well let me tell you, its not.
Problem areas:

1. The restaurant is extremely loud – yes, I feel like my mother when I say things like that- but the truth is you might as well go see a movie for the amount of conversation you can hold in the bar area.

2. Poor Planning – we waited 20 minutes to be seated when we had a reservation and the hostess stand is in a location that requires you to have to push your way through the masses (spilling your drink every which way) to eventually make it to your table.

3. The food – it was fine…I don’t have specific complaints, but I have had a hamburger that I enjoyed more than anything I ordered there. As my friend so elegantly put it – the dessert was just some blue bell ice cream, and I can get that at home.

4. Cougar Town – the amount of bad botox and plastic people that surrounded me was more than I had ever experienced…and I lived in Los Angeles. Ladies, if you are going out and you are over 40 please please dress your age. Its just rude to make the rest of us stare at your surgery blunders.

Oh by the Way: The outside porch area was nice and when autumn comes, its not a bad place to grab a cocktail.

Let’s be honest: I’ve had better

When seeing Tom Arnold is the highlight of dinner, you know the food isn't anything to write home about.

Impressive overview from a trusted source. I must say that I have been unsure about venturing into "the" new swanky spot, but now – clearly – I must… strictly for purposes of evaluating what NOT to do when under the influence of excess botox. Speaking of LOUD restaurants… have you been to RA in Town & Country yet? I think I have permanent ear damage…
