Wonderland

There have been many and will be many more adaptations of Alice in Wonderland throughout the years prior and the years to come. What makes this tale so enticing perhaps is the whimsical nature of the story and the sense that the odd and bizarre is always waiting around the corner. With that element its no wonder that people want to recreate the tale again and again in different formats. The latest one we have here in Houston is composer Frank Wildhorn’s Wonderland at the Alley Theatre. Wonderland is a new story about a 21st-century Alice, a children’s book author in Manhattan, who is struggling with writer’s block and impending divorce. Her daughter Chloe runs away, and Alice pursues her to a Wonderland.
With that story and the music we’ve come to love from Frank Wildhorn (Jekyll & Hyde, The Scarlet Pimpernel, Civil War) what more could you ask for?

Well we could at least have a party right? And right you are.
This Thursday at the Winter Street Studios from 8pm – 11pm the Alley Theatre presents the Wonderland Bash!
*Proceeds go to the Alley Theatre’s Education and Community Engagement Department
