What’s that you say? You don’t know the difference between Kentucky mash and scotch whiskey?
Well, let’s change that.
Girl Around Town will be at The Brooklyneer next week as they host a Glenfiddich tasting- ladies only- with Scotch expert, Heather Greene. (I just drooled a little bit. Wait, it’s before noon and I’m drooling over scotch? Are we concerned or proud?)
This is a perfect way to ask all those questions, as basic as: what makes scotch, scotch and whiskey, whiskey? (location, location, location); to, what does ‘peaty’ mean? And do we really want our scotch tasting like peat moss? (For me, yes.)
AND the event is free, though a donation is suggested to benefit care for the senior women at Village Care.
Where: The Brooklyneer, 220 W. Houston Street (Bw Varick & 6th)
Who: Scotch Master, Heather Greene
When: This coming Wednesday, October 12th, 7pm-9pm
Let’s Be Honest: Guys, an evening of women and whiskey? Did someone say dream come true?
So,while we ladies will be busy sampling the Glenfiddich goodness in one area of The Brooklyneer, the bar will still be open to other patrons, so here’s a thought: park yourself on a barstool, wait for the tasting to break up and then ask one of us if we have any good scotch recommendations. We’ll be happy to tell you about everything we learned! (And slightly tipsy, too.)
Oh, By the Way: One of my favorite, oft-quoted movie quotes of all time: “I’ll have a scotch on the rocks. Any scotch will do as long as it’s not a blend of course. Single malt Glenlivet, Glenfiddich perhaps maybe a Glen… any Glen.”
Who can name the movie?
Accessorize: A night of sniffing scotch? Sexy + badass. Calls for a sexy, badass jumpsuit.
