Ways to change your shape...
1. Diet and Exercise
You know the drill, burn off more calories that you consume in a day in order to start tipping the scale down. Burning more with exercise helps speed the process. Using weights helps cultivate muscle, and more muscle mass helps you burn more calories throughout the day. (That’s pretty awesome!)
The benefits of using a diet and exercise regimen are not only aesthetic, you are literally improving your body from the inside out, as your cardiovascular, respiratory, endocrine, lymphatic, digestive, nervous and immune systems respond positively to positive lifestyle factors.
2. Liposuction and Coolscultping
There are pockets of fat on the body that are resistant to diet and exercise. These need to be handled differently if you want to achieve a body transformation. That’s where lipo and coolscultping come in (link to SBG lip page and GirlAT cool sculpting page). In liposuction, a tube inserted into the body sucks out the fat pocket. For coolsculpting, an apparatus outside the body is applied to the pudgy area and held there to freeze off the fat. From the inside the fat gradually melts away. (Almost like magic!) Both leave a body more svelt, with less jiggle.
Breast, butt, calf, chin, cheek, pectoral, penile- you name it, there’s an implant for it. Key areas of the body can be augmented, enhancing that area and the shape of the body overall.
4. Fat Transfer
Perhaps the most bang-for-the-surgical-buck, fat transfers combine liposuction with “natural” implants. Fat is removed from the stubborn pockets and inserted into areas of the body in need of extra curve. So in one surgical procedure, you not only remove the offending bulge from the belly, hips or thighs, you also boost the backside, breast, lip or hand. Make way for a whole new shape!
The great thing about this list, is that almost everything here can be integrated together in a fashion that suits you, your body and your lifestyle. As always, consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon to determine what solution is best for you!
